Immigration workflow packs
The nine immigration workflow packs LegalBook ships, what a pack contains, and why your attorneys configure the legal requirements.
For: OwnerAttorney
LegalBook starts with immigration firms. It ships nine workflow packs: production frameworks for the most common immigration matters. A pack organizes the work. It does not decide the law: your attorneys review and configure the legal requirements before the firm uses it.
The nine packs
| Pack | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Immigration consultation intake | From a new prospect to a signed engagement or a documented decline: worker intake with attorney-only risk flags, the attorney's conflict decision, an optional consultation fee, the consultation, the attorney's accept or decline decision, the engagement agreement and signature, and opening the matter |
| Family-based petition | Questionnaire and identity documents, fact verification, an attorney strategy and eligibility gate, relationship evidence, translations, an optional declaration, form preparation with QA, packet assembly with QA and attorney approval, client and attorney signatures, an optional payment gate, attorney approval of submission, submission with proof, receipt tracking, decision handling and closeout |
| Adjustment of status | Questionnaire, applicant and sponsor documents, fact verification, attorney routing of admissibility-relevant facts, an attorney strategy gate, supporting evidence, financial sponsorship review (a joint sponsor when the attorney decides), the medical examination record, translations, an optional declaration, forms, packet, signatures, an optional payment gate, filing, receipt and decision. Biometrics, interviews and evidence requests run as their own workflows |
| Naturalization | Questionnaire and documents, fact verification, attorney routing of character and residence facts, an attorney eligibility and strategy gate, evidence, translations, forms, packet, signatures, an optional payment gate, filing, receipt, study materials, decision, oath ceremony, certificate copy and closeout |
| Consular processing | After an approved petition: prerequisites, attorney strategy (category, post, civil documents and police certificates per applicant, any waiver question), agency fee confirmation, questionnaire, civil and sponsor documents, financial sponsorship review, fact verification, translations, online application preparation with QA, document package with QA and attorney approval, signatures, filing with proof, agency confirmation, interview notice and medical exam, decision and closeout |
| Humanitarian / asylum support | A restricted framework: a safety screen, the attorney's determination of any filing deadline (recorded and verified, never computed by LegalBook), questionnaire and identity documents, an attorney-led interview, fact verification, the attorney's relief strategy, supporting evidence, country-conditions research, translations, a declaration with attorney approval, forms, packet, signatures, filing with proof, receipt, decision or referral, and closeout |
| RFE / NOID response | Started by a verified request for evidence or intent to deny: an attorney alert, adopting and verifying the notice deadline (never computed by the workflow), internal buffer targets, notice review and evidence-gap analysis, the attorney's response strategy (or decision not to respond), the client evidence request, an optional declaration, a deadline watchdog, the response packet with QA and attorney approval, attorney approval of submission, submission with proof, client update and receipt follow-up |
| Biometrics / interview preparation | Started by a verified biometrics, interview or hearing notice: the appointment created from the notice and its verification, a conflict check with an attorney decision on any reschedule request, client notice, then either the biometrics path or the interview or hearing path (attorney attendance decision, update questionnaire, documents to bring, preparation meeting, binder with attorney approval), outcome capture and follow-up |
| Matter closeout | Ready to close, a closeout checklist with QA, a balance review decided by the attorney under firm policy, a closing letter generated for attorney approval, attorney approval to close, letter delivery and return of originals. Closing the matter stays an attorney's action |
The packs send the six immigration client questionnaires to clients through the portal. See Prospects and intake.
What a pack contains
A pack is a set of workflow definitions with their steps, the work item types and queues they use, document requests and templates they reference, questionnaires, attorney gates, deadline and appointment steps, and the client-safe milestones the portal can show.
What a pack does not contain is legal content you can rely on without review. Deadline rules ship as unpublished drafts with no offsets, appointment instructions are placeholders, and the legal thresholds in questionnaires are defaults your attorney reviews.
Install and sign off
- Open Configuration → Workflow packs.
- Install the packs your firm uses. The firm gets its own copy, which it can change.
- Review the pack with your attorneys: the gates, the facts it routes to attorneys, the documents it requests and the client-facing text.
- An attorney or supervising attorney signs off the pack.
Onboarding step 18 installs packs and step 20 confirms the attorney approval gates. A version derived from a pack that removes an attorney gate can only be published by an attorney.
No government affiliation
The packs follow the shape of common immigration processes. LegalBook is not affiliated with any government agency, and nothing in a pack is an agency's guidance.
