Workflows and playbooks

A workflow engine with versioned definitions, attorney gates, QA, client tasks and deadlines, nine immigration workflow packs, and playbooks delivered inside the work.

§ 1Workflows and playbooks

Versioned definitions

A workflow definition is versioned. When a matter starts a workflow, it stays on the version it started on, so changing the definition next month does not rewrite the work already in progress.

§ 2Workflows and playbooks

What a step can be

A workflow is made of steps, and each step is one of a fixed set of kinds:

  • Worker tasks, attorney gates and QA reviews
  • Client tasks and document requests
  • Signature stages, deadlines and timers
  • Approvals, rework loops and parallel branches

§ 3Workflows and playbooks

The workflow never makes a legal decision

Deadlines come from rules and are verified by an attorney. Decisions come from attorney gates. Facts come from the fact store, verified by a person. The engine moves the work between those points; it does not decide eligibility, strategy or whether to file.

§ 4Workflows and playbooks

Nine immigration packs

Each pack is a production framework for a recurring kind of matter: the facts it needs, its evidence categories, questionnaires, document requests, production tasks, QA checklists, attorney review gates, signature and filing stages, receipt follow-up, client-update cadence and closeout. The legal requirements are reviewed and configured by your attorneys before a pack is activated.

§ 5Workflows and playbooks

Playbooks, procedures and training

Procedures and firm guidance are versioned documents delivered in context: inside a call, a work item or an intake. When a procedure changes, the people who use it acknowledge the new version. Training modules and certifications grant the skills that routing checks before offering work.
