Documents and evidence

Documents with immutable versions, requests to clients with reminders, a scanning pipeline with quarantine, and signed, time-bound links for every view, download and print.

§ 1Documents and evidence

Documents and versions

A document is linked to the matters, people, filings and request slots it is evidence for. Each upload is a new version, and versions are never changed or deleted by the application: a correction supersedes, it does not overwrite.

§ 2Documents and evidence

Requesting documents from clients

Document requests use templates with slots, so a client sees exactly what is needed and in what form. Reminders follow a schedule until the request is complete, and what arrives is validated by staff before it is accepted.

  • Request templates and slots
  • Scheduled reminders
  • Validation before acceptance
  • Uploads straight from the client portal

§ 3Documents and evidence

Scanning and quarantine

Every upload goes through a processing pipeline: it is hashed, scanned for malware and content-checked before anyone opens it. A file that fails is quarantined, and an exposure can be raised as a privacy incident.

§ 4Documents and evidence

Viewing, sharing and printing

Nobody downloads a document from a permanent address. Viewing, downloading and printing go through signed, time-bound links minted after a permission check, and every mint and download is recorded in the audit log. A print token works once.

Share links have their own public page and are checked again on every visit: a document that is quarantined, superseded or made attorney-only stops being shared.

  • Signed, time-bound links
  • One-time print tokens
  • Share links re-checked on every visit
  • Redaction for export

§ 5Documents and evidence

Translation, media and signatures

A translation request becomes a work item for a translator with the right language. Audio and video are kept with their renditions, and documents can carry annotations.

Signature stages exist in the workflow today. The bridge to an e-signature provider is not available yet.

§ 6Status

What is in the product today.

Each capability on this page, with its status. Not available yet means exactly that: it is not offered today.
