LegalBook is one app with a workspace for each kind of work. What you see in each depends on your role in the firm you are working in.

The client's Home |
The sidebar on the left lists only the screens your role may open. The server checks every screen again, so a link you should not have does not lead anywhere.
Switching workspaces
If you hold more than one role (for example a firm owner who is also an attorney), use the Switch app button, the grid icon in the top bar. It lists the workspaces you can use and opens the first screen in each that you may see. On a phone, Switch app is in the account menu (your picture, top right).
The account menu also holds LegalBook home, Account at LegalBook SSO, Sessions in this app, Security & devices, Keyboard shortcuts and Sign out everywhere.
The firm strip
On every screen that belongs to a firm, the top bar shows which firm you are working in: its name, brand colour and local time. If the firm has a standing instruction for staff, it shows there too, and reception and production read it before acting.
This matters most for the shared workforce, who may serve several firms in one shift. A work item also shows its firm on the item itself, so nobody greets a caller with the wrong firm's name or files a document in the wrong firm.
If you work for more than one firm, the firm name in the top bar is also the firm switcher.
Search
Press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows), or / when you are not typing in a field, or use the search button. The palette jumps to screens and commands and searches the firm's records as you type.
For a full search, open Search in the sidebar. It finds contacts, prospects, matters, notes, notices, filings, work items, documents, calls, voicemails, message threads, emails, phone numbers, appointments, deadlines, client threads and tasks, procedures and playbooks. You can search by exact ids, receipt and case numbers, phone numbers and email addresses, by full text, and by a person's name even when it is misspelled.
Search shows only what you are allowed to open. A result you may not see is not counted, not hinted at and not shown. Every result says why it matched.
Saved searches keeps searches you run often. Your recent searches are kept for you alone.
Notifications
The bell in the top bar and Notifications in the sidebar open your notification center. From Notification preferences you can choose channels per category, set quiet hours, choose hourly or daily digests, add a paging number and set out-of-office cover. Critical pages and escalations reach you even during quiet hours unless your firm has changed that setting.
Some notifications need an acknowledgement. Escalation runs shows the pages you were sent and whether someone has acknowledged them. See Notifications and alerts.
Keyboard shortcuts
Press ? anywhere (or choose Keyboard shortcuts in the account menu) to see the shortcuts for the screen you are on. Common ones:
| Keys | Goes to |
|---|---|
| g d | Firm dashboard |
| g u | Users & roles |
| g c | Configuration |
| g a | Audit log |
| g i | Integrations |
| g b | Billing overview |
| g n | Notifications |
Call-handling and matter screens have their own shortcuts, listed on Handling calls, callbacks and voicemail and The matter record.
