Immigration

Built for immigration firms first

9 immigration workflow packs and 7 questionnaires in English and Spanish, inside the same platform as your reception, intake and client portal. Your attorneys set the legal requirements.

§ 1Why immigration

Why immigration comes first.

LegalBook launches with one practice area modeled deeply rather than a blank workflow builder. Immigration work fits the platform well:

  • Process-heavy

The same kinds of matters repeat, step by step, and standard work pays off.

  • Document-heavy

Identity documents, civil documents, evidence and translations, requested, checked and followed up.

  • Multilingual

Many clients prefer Spanish or another language, on the phone and in writing.

  • Deadline-driven

Notices set dates that cannot be missed, and each one needs an attorney’s eye.

§ 2Workflow packs

The 9 workflow packs.

Each pack is a production framework: required facts, evidence categories, questionnaires, document requests, production tasks, QA checklists, attorney review gates, signature and filing stages, receipt follow-up and closeout. Across the packs there are 96 attorney review gates.

§ 3Questionnaires

7 questionnaires, in English and Spanish.

Staff run them during a call, or a client completes them in the portal. They collect self-reported facts for the legal team and do not decide eligibility. A firm clones one and publishes it after an attorney signs it off.

  • Immigration consultation intake

    Admisión para consulta de inmigración

Pre-consultation intake taken by reception/intake staff or completed by the prospective client in the portal. Collects identity, contact, household, immigration history and goals. It does not determine eligibility; flagged answers route the intake to an attorney.

  • Adjustment of status questionnaire

    Cuestionario de ajuste de estatus

Client questionnaire for an adjustment applicant: identity, entries and status history, addresses, employment, family and background questions. Self-reported facts for the legal team; it does not decide eligibility.

  • Before your appointment: what has changed

Antes de su cita: qué ha cambiado

Short client questionnaire before a biometrics or interview appointment: changes since the case was filed (address, employment, travel, marital status, children, arrests or citations) and whether an interpreter is needed.

  • Family petition questionnaire

    Cuestionario de petición familiar

Client questionnaire for a family-based petition: the petitioner (the client) and the relative being petitioned for — identity, status, marriages, addresses and the relative's entries. Collects self-reported facts for the legal team; it does not decide eligibility.

  • Humanitarian case questionnaire

    Cuestionario de caso humanitario

Restricted client questionnaire for humanitarian matters: identity, family, travel and arrival history. It deliberately does not ask about the harm suffered — that account is taken by the attorney in a private interview. Every answer is restricted.

  • Immigrant visa questionnaire

    Cuestionario de visa de inmigrante

Client questionnaire for the immigrant visa application through a consulate: identity, addresses since age 16, employment, family, prior U.S. travel and background questions. Self-reported facts for the legal team; it does not decide eligibility.

  • Naturalization questionnaire

    Cuestionario de naturalización

Client questionnaire for naturalization: residence, trips abroad, employment and schools, marital history, children, background and tax questions. Self-reported facts for the legal team; it does not decide eligibility.

§ 4Notices and deadlines

Notices, responses and appointments.

A notice is matched to its matter and verified by staff. From a verified notice, the deadline it sets is proposed and then verified by an attorney: the platform never computes a filing deadline on its own authority.

  • RFE and NOID responses: attorney alert, evidence-gap review, response strategy, response packet with QA and attorney approval, submission with proof
  • Biometrics and interview preparation: appointment confirmation, an update questionnaire, documents to bring and a preparation meeting
  • Deadlines verified by an attorney, with reminders and at-risk flags
  • Filings approved by an attorney, submitted with proof, and receipted

§ 5Clients

Clients see progress in plain language.

Matter milestones reach the client portal only with a client-safe label, in English or Spanish. Clients upload documents into the request that asked for them, and translation requests become work for a qualified translator.

§ 6Boundary

Your attorneys own the law.

The packs are a production framework. Every pack is marked as requiring attorney review: the legal requirements in it are reviewed, approved and configured by your attorneys before it is activated, and eligibility, strategy and filing decisions are attorney gates.
